LibPositives Spotlight Presents Gemane G. Getteh
Gemane G. Getteh is a Liberian citizen, ordained minister of the Gospel, counselor, public speaker and Bible & human behavioral science scholar. He is currently serving as Director of Communications and Global Mission for the South-West Liberia Conference of Seventhday Adventists, and Vice President for Spiritual Life and Missions. He is also is also a lecturer of New Testament Studies and Psychology at the Adventist University of West Africa. Additionally, Pastor Getteh serves as Pastor of the Central Monrovia District and Resident Senior Pastor of the Monrovia Central Church of Seventh-day Adventists. He is also the presenter of the famous radio program, BEREAN HOUR, (aired on Radio Advent – 93.7 FM at 9:00 pm daily) and has appeared on various local and international radio and TV channels, including ELBC, Hope Channel, and 2CBNTV. Pastor Getteh began his professional career in the practice of Christian Counseling and Ministry in Ghana where he pastored, professionally counselled and taught for several years. During this time, he was a founding member and first Executive Director and Speaker of the Anchor of Hope Ministries and Counseling Center. He subsequently founded the Center for Christian Leadership Development and Counseling, an institution which offers leadership development and training opportunities for citizens from many nations, including Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, etc. In furtherance of his life’s call, he has travelled extensively, researching, and speaking at church gatherings, public university campuses, civic events and other venues in Asia, Africa, Middle East and Europe,. His desire to change the world through education has also made him to hold lectureship in several colleges and universities, including the University of Liberia where he serves as Adjunct Lecturer of Psychology. Furthermore, he has served on many boards and committees, including the Executive Committee of the South-West Liberia Conference (from 2013 to present), and the Board of Trustees of the Adventist University of West Africa (from 2016 to present). Pastor Getteh has an Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies (AA), Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Counseling (BBC), Bachelor of Divinity (B.Div.), Bachelor of Art in Theological Studies (BA), and Master of Divinity (M.Div.). He has also completed course works for his MA in Biblical and Theological Studies (New Testament Emphasis) and Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology (Clinical Psychology Emphasis) at the Adventist University of Africa and Atlantic International University respectively. Furthermore, he has academic and professional certificates and diplomas in several areas, including Leadership Development, Pastoral Care and Counseling, Posttraumatic Traumatic Stress Disorder Care, and Strategic Leadership. His research interests include Counseling and Psychology (with focus on Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Care), Peace and Conflict Studies, Christian Education and Biblical Studies (with focus on New Testament Studies). He also offers training and consultancy in some key areas of need on the African Continent, including Community Mental Health and Counseling, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Counseling, Strategic Leadership, Conflict Resolution and Transformative Peacebuilding and Marriage and Family Enrichment.
He is happily married to his lovely wife, Corina Getteh, and is the proud father of two lovely children, Nathaniel and Mary.
